Patch 29.6 brings several new features and updates to Hearthstone. Some of the key highlights include:

1. Preparations for the next expansion, Perils in Paradise, which arrives on July 23. Players can pre-purchase the expansion and log in to receive the free Marin the Manager Legendary card.
2. The return of Genn and Baku to the free Core Set until the launch of Perils in Paradise on July 23.
3. The return of Buddies in Battlegrounds, including Battlegrounds Duos. Each Hero has a unique Buddy that synergizes with their Hero Power.
4. The Midsummer Fire Festival in-game event, which runs from June 25 to July 16, offering players the chance to complete Event Quests and earn rewards.
5. The addition of nine new Heroes in the July Twist season.
6. An update to Diamond disenchanting, allowing most Diamond cards to be disenchanted for the same value as Golden cards.
7. A matchmaking update that now bases matchmaking on internal rating even after running out of bonus stars, resulting in more consistent and fairer matches throughout the ladder.
8. A passive XP grant adjustment to combat bots and exploitive play patterns.

Additionally, the patch includes various bug fixes and game improvements.

In the Patch 29.6 update, Genn and Baku are being returned to the free Core Set of Hearthstone, making them playable in both Standard and Wild formats for all players until the launch of the Perils in Paradise expansion on July 23. These two iconic cards were originally sent to Wild early due to their powerful abilities, but they are now being brought back temporarily to celebrate Hearthstone's history and offer players a chance to create new Odd and Even decks2.
