Nine-year-old Morris Kwok Yat-chun from Hong Kong found solace through an AI and virtual reality program after losing his younger brother, Yat-lai, to an autoimmune disease in 2020. The Dreams*2Gather program, run by the non-profit Love Our Kids Foundation, recreated Yat-lai, allowing Morris to interact with him in a virtual world. This initiative is part of a broader effort by volunteers and tech firms to use AI to help individuals cope with grief by recreating images and voices of deceased loved ones.
