ALDI cutting prices on more than 250 items to help combat ‘stubborn inflation’

ALDI is reducing prices on over 250 items this summer, including BBQ essentials and snacks, to help customers deal with high inflation. Despite the price cuts, some reductions are minor, such as a 10-cent drop on a French baguette. The company aims to save shoppers around $100 million with these discounts.

Other grocery chains, like Trader Joe's, have also announced price reductions recently. Amidst rising food costs, which saw an 11.4% increase in 2022 and a further 5% in 2023, U.S. officials have urged grocers to lower prices to ease consumer burden, especially as high grocery prices become a significant issue in President Biden’s re-election campaign.
