The Zen 5 architecture boasts a 16% increase in instructions per cycle (IPC) throughput compared to its predecessor, Zen 4. This improvement is due to a range of architectural enhancements, including doubled data bandwidth between caches, improved branch prediction, wider pipelines, and increased instruction bandwidth for front-end instructions. These changes contribute to significant performance gains in both gaming and productivity workloads, making Zen 5 a notable upgrade over Zen 4.

During the Computex 2024 demo, the Ryzen 9 9900X was benchmarked using the game "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora." The game was tested at the 1080p High preset, and the CPU averaged 229 FPS, reaching as high as 283 FPS on the Max and 130 FPS on the Min counters.

The base clock speed of the Ryzen 9 9950X CPU is 4.3 GHz, and the boost clock speed is 5.7 GHz.
