Apple pushes OLED suppliers for iPad Pro, adds iPhone 16 vendor

Apple is set to introduce OLED displays in the 2024 iPad Pro, a move that has posed unique challenges for suppliers due to the use of a new hybrid substrate technology. This technology combines the benefits of both flexible and rigid OLED substrates. Additionally, the iPad Pro will feature a 2-stack tandem OLED setup, enhancing the display's quality and efficiency. These advancements are expected to debut at Apple's event on May 7.

In parallel, Apple is updating its supplier list for the iPhone 16, bringing in Novatek as a new supplier for OLED Display Driver ICs (DDI). This adjustment indicates a strategic shift in Apple's supply chain management, aiming to optimize the production process for the upcoming iPhone models.
