Apple Intelligence will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. These are the only iPhone models that have the Apple Silicon A17 Pro processor, which is required to run Apple Intelligence. This means that hundreds of millions of older iPhones will not support the AI component, even if they are able to run iOS 18.
iOS 18 supports iPhone models going back to the iPhone XR and iPhone XS, which were launched in October 2018.
At the WWDC this week, Apple launched its new artificial intelligence software called "Apple Intelligence." This software is designed to be a personal intelligence system that will be integrated into Apple's devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs. It will enable a wide range of new capabilities across Apple's native apps, such as the ability to generate images or summarize text, and it will be built with a strong emphasis on security and privacy. Apple Intelligence will be available for free on the iPhone 15 Pro as well as on iPads and Macs with an M1 chip and later.
