Individuals in Arizona who consumed Diamond Shruumz brand products have reported severe health issues, including seizures, central nervous system depression, agitation, abnormal heart rates, hyper/hypotension, nausea, and vomiting. Some patients required emergency transport, emergency department evaluation, and intensive care admission. The Arizona Department of Health Services advises consumers not to eat or consume these products and to safely dispose of any Diamond Shruumz-brand products they may have.
The Arizona Department of Health Services has recommended the following steps for consumers who have purchased Diamond Shruumz products: 1) Do not eat or consume Diamond Shruumz-brand chocolate bars, cones, or gummies until further notice; 2) Safely dispose of any Diamond Shruumz-brand product you may have or return it to the retailer it was purchased from; 3) Be aware that "microdosing" products are not FDA-approved, and the ingredients listed may not be accurate; 4) Keep in mind that ingredients not listed may have unknown adverse health effects; 5) If you become ill after consuming the Diamond Shruumz products, contact your health care provider or call the Poison Control helpline at 1-800-222-1222.
As of June 19, 2024, a total of 26 illnesses have been reported nationwide related to the consumption of Diamond Shruumz products. In Arizona specifically, six cases have been reported to two Arizona poison centers. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced an investigation into the Diamond Shruumz products, which include candy, chocolate bars, cones, and gummies.
