AT&T is experiencing a significant outage affecting thousands of users across major U.S. cities like Chicago, Dallas, and Phoenix. This disruption, which started around 4am ET, impacts mobile phones and internet services. Issues reported include lack of signal and mobile internet problems. This incident occurs just three months after a previous major outage, and customers are expressing their frustrations and expectations for service credits on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter).

During the current AT&T outage, approximately 58 percent of users are reporting issues with their mobile phones.

AT&T has responded to the question of whether the recent outage was caused by a cyberattack by stating that they believe the outage was not due to malicious activity. In a statement released by the company, they said, "Based on our initial review, we believe that today's outage was caused by the application and execution of an incorrect process used as we were expanding our network, not a cyber attack15." AT&T is continuing its assessment of the outage to ensure the delivery of reliable service to its customers. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI are also investigating the incident.
