

Larian Studios, the creator of Baldur's Gate 3, is opening a new studio in Warsaw, Poland, to enhance its round-the-clock development cycle. This expansion supports the creation of two highly ambitious RPGs. The Warsaw studio will be Larian's seventh location, joining others in cities like Quebec and Barcelona. CEO Swen Vincke highlighted the rich talent pool in Poland, particularly in RPGs, making it an ideal location for their latest venture.

Larian Studios' new Warsaw studio has specific goals for both project and team development. In terms of project development, the Warsaw studio will focus on working on Larian's two "very ambitious" new RPGs3. This is in line with Larian's plans to expand its current 24-hour development cycle and ramp up development on its next titles.
Regarding team development, the Warsaw studio aims to foster an environment where developers can thrive creatively and reclaim their agency. The studio's Head of Studio, Ula Jach, emphasized the importance of encouraging creativity, collaboration, and innovation within the heart of Poland's lively gaming scene. The company is also hiring for various positions at the Warsaw studio, including RPG Designer, Graphics Programmer, Tools Programmer, and Writer, showcasing its commitment to invest in local talent and expertise.

Swen Vincke, the CEO of Larian Studios, described the potential of the Polish gaming industry as highly promising based on his observations at the Polish games industry conference (GIC). He noted that the conference confirmed his belief that there is a significant amount of talent in Poland, with many developers who share Larian's approach to game development. Additionally, he highlighted that many of these developers are particularly interested in working on RPGs, making Poland a perfect fit for Larian's expansion plans. This alignment of interests and expertise led Vincke to describe the situation as "a match made in heaven," indicating both the strategic fit and his optimism about the collaboration potential with Polish talent.
