Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys is being placed under a legal conservatorship

Beach Boy Brian Wilson Under New Conservatorship

Brian Wilson, co-founder of The Beach Boys, has been placed under a legal conservatorship due to a "major neurocognitive disorder," as ruled by a Los Angeles judge. His conservators will be his manager, LeeAnn Hard, and publicist, Jean Sievers, following the initiative taken by his family after the passing of his wife, Melinda. Unlike the controversial Britney Spears conservatorship, Wilson has consented to the arrangement, which also involves his seven children in major healthcare decisions.
Wilson's family decided on the conservatorship to maintain stability in his household and ensure ongoing care, facilitated by longtime family housekeeper and a supportive team. This decision allows Wilson to continue engaging in personal and professional activities. Throughout his life, Wilson has faced mental health challenges, including a heavily criticized period under psychologist Eugene Landy's control in the 1970s and 1980s. The current legal move aims to safeguard his well-being and dignity in his later years.
