Collins Aerospace pulls back from NASA spacesuit contract

The issues with the spacesuits used on June spacewalks included a "spacesuit discomfort issue" on June 13, which led to the cancellation of the spacewalk. On June 24, a water leak occurred in an astronaut's spacesuit, causing the spacewalk to be called off as a precaution.

Collins Aerospace and NASA mutually agreed to descope Exploration Extravehicular Activity Services (xEVAS) task orders due to delays, cost overruns, and the fixed-price nature of the contract4. The company determined it was no longer feasible to continue work on the project.
