Nintendo plans to combat scalping of their new hardware by producing a sufficient number of units to meet customer demand. This strategy aims to eliminate the need for customers to turn to scalpers for purchasing the console at inflated prices. Additionally, Nintendo is considering other measures within legal boundaries and regional circumstances to further counteract resale issues.
At Nintendo's shareholder meeting, president Shuntaro Furukawa discussed the company's efforts to combat scalpers for the upcoming Switch successor by producing enough consoles to meet customer demand. He also mentioned that the component shortage issue affecting the gaming industry is no longer impacting Nintendo.
Furukawa mentioned that a shortage of semiconductor components affected Nintendo's production recently. This issue has now been resolved, and Nintendo believes it won't have a significant impact on the production of the Switch successor.
