Healthy individuals infected with salmonella from contaminated cucumbers can experience symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, the bacteria can get into the bloodstream and cause more severe infections. It is important to note that the symptoms usually begin six hours to six days after infection and last four to seven days2. However, some people do not develop symptoms for several weeks after infection and others experience symptoms for several weeks2.

The recalled cucumbers were shipped from May 17 through May 21, 2024.
