Delta will start selling Premium Select seats on the transcontinental route between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX). This route is considered highly competitive because it is a premium route with high demand for business travel. Delta primarily flies wide-body aircraft on this route, offering a more spacious and comfortable experience compared to narrow-body planes typically used by other airlines. By introducing premium economy on this route, Delta aims to provide a new level of comfort and luxury, while also monetizing the premium economy cabin.

Delta will begin offering Premium Select on all its flights between New York and Los Angeles starting from November 11, 2024.

Delta's Premium Select service on transcontinental flights is expected to include several key features and amenities. These include:
More comfortable seats: Premium Select seats are wider, with more legroom and recline compared to standard economy seats. They also feature adjustable leg and footrests for added comfort.
Enhanced dining experience: Passengers can expect a "bubbles and bites" service, which includes sparkling wine and a pre-meal snack. The meal service will also be upgraded, with premium snack baskets and chef-made dishes inspired by local flavors of the destination.
Premium amenities: Each passenger will receive a sustainable amenity kit from the Mexico-based artisan collective Someone Somewhere4. The kit includes skincare products from Grown Alchemist. Passengers will also enjoy noise-canceling headsets, memory foam pillows, and cozy blankets made from recycled materials.
Additional perks: Premium Select passengers will have access to SkyPriority check-in, boarding, and baggage services, including two free checked bags. They will also receive a fragrant oshibori hand towel before meals and have access to a premium snack basket.
These features are designed to provide a more premium experience for passengers at a more reasonable price point than Delta One, the airline's business class offering.
