The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a ban on most uses of methylene chloride, a toxic solvent linked to at least 88 accidental deaths since 1980. This ban is part of the Biden administration's efforts to regulate chemicals that pose serious health risks. The new rule will eliminate all consumer uses and most industrial and commercial applications, although some exemptions will apply, including for military uses and specific industries like those producing climate-friendly coolants and electric vehicle components.
