Dairy Manufacturers Inc. recalled several baby formula products, including Crecelac Infant Powdered Goat-Milk Infant Formula with Iron 0 to 12 months, Farmalac Baby Powdered Infant Formula with Iron 0 to 12 months, and Farmalac Baby Powdered Infant Formula with Iron Low Lactose 0 to 12 months5. These products are intended for infants aged 0 to 12 months.

The FDA issued a warning about these baby formula products because they found Cronobacter contamination in a sample of Crecelac formula during their ongoing investigation into the products. Cronobacter is a bacteria that can cause serious infections in infants, including life-threatening conditions like sepsis and meningitis. The products were also not in compliance with all FDA infant formula regulations, as the company had not submitted the products for the required premarket notification before selling them in the US.

The recalled baby formula products are being sold in retail stores in Texas. However, the FDA states that they may also be available in other locations throughout the United States. The products in question are labeled as infant formula and are packaged in 12.4-ounce cans with expiration dates in August and September 2025. The recalled products include Crecelac Infant 0-12, Farmalac 0-12, and Farmalac 0-12 Low Lactose.
