Finland's Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) has issued a warning about an Android malware campaign targeting online bank accounts through deceptive SMS messages. These messages, appearing to be from legitimate banks or payment services, instruct recipients to install a fake McAfee app, which is actually malware designed to steal banking information.
The malware, suspected to be a new version of the Vultur trojan, facilitates unauthorized bank transfers from the victims' accounts. In one reported instance, a victim lost 95,000 euros. Traficom advises affected individuals to contact their banks and reset their devices to factory settings to eliminate the malware.
