Sixty-one years after being overlooked as the first Black astronaut, Ed Dwight, aged 90, soared into space aboard a Blue Origin rocket, becoming the oldest person to reach the edge of space. The NS-25 mission marked Blue Origin's return to crewed flights since a 2022 incident. Dwight, a significant figure in Black history through his sculptures, was joined by six other crew members on this historic flight. His journey to space was sponsored by the non-profit Space for Humanity.
