Teddy Solomon, co-founder of Fizz, used the platform to furnish his new house in Palo Alto by connecting with the Stanford community on Fizz2. He was particularly excited about getting a $100 TV from a graduate student who was moving out for the summer.
Fizz, the anonymous social media platform, has expanded its presence from about a dozen colleges in 2022 to now operating on 240 college campuses and 60 high schools. The platform has also grown its team to 30 full-time staff members and 4,000 volunteer moderators across various educational institutions.
Fizz's marketplace predominantly sells items such as clothes, textbooks, bikes, and other items commonly transacted among college students. The most popular category is clothing, which accounts for about 25% of listings.
