Ford recalls Maverick pickups in US because tail lights can go dark, increasing the risk of a crash

Ford is recalling about 243,000 Maverick pickup trucks in the U.S. from the 2022 to 2024 model years because their tail lights may fail to illuminate. This issue, caused by a computer error detecting excessive current, could increase the risk of a crash. However, other lights like headlights and brake lights remain functional. Dealers will update the software for free, with notifications to owners starting May 20.
