Ford recalls nearly 243,000 Maverick pickups for tail light problem

Ford is recalling nearly 243,000 Maverick pickups from the 2022 to 2024 model years in the U.S. due to a risk that the tail lights may not illuminate. This issue, caused by a computer error detecting excessive current, increases the risk of crashes. Although no crashes or injuries have been reported, dealers will update the software for free to fix the problem, with notifications to owners starting May 20.
