Frank Stella, an iconic figure in the minimalist and post-painterly abstraction movements, passed away at 87 due to lymphoma. His innovative art, beginning with his black paintings series at 23, evolved from flat minimalism to vibrant, three-dimensional works, challenging and reshaping modern art boundaries. Stella's latest sculptures, showcasing his lifelong quest to merge painting and sculpture, are currently exhibited at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in New York City.
