Samsung's latest Galaxy Watch releases, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, have lost support for the useful charging feature of wirelessly charging your watch with your phone. This is due to the upgraded health sensors on the watches, which changed the shape of the glass on the bottom, making wireless charging no longer possible.

Wireless PowerShare is a feature in Samsung Galaxy devices that allows users to wirelessly charge other devices, such as smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds, using their Samsung phone as a wireless charger2. The technology is based on the Qi wireless charging standard and can output up to 4.5W of power.

The Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra cannot use Wireless PowerShare due to a revamped health and physical activity monitoring sensor6. The new sensor design required changing the shape of the back glass, increasing the distance between the internal wireless charging coil of the watch and the wireless charger, making Wireless PowerShare no longer supported.
