General Motors (GM) announced it will end production of the Chevrolet Malibu in November 2024 to revamp its Kansas facility for the production of electric vehicles, including the new Chevrolet Bolt. The Fairfax Assembly Plant will also pause production of the Cadillac XT4 after January 2025 and receive a $390 million investment to facilitate these changes. GM aims to adapt to shifting consumer preferences by focusing more on electric and crossover vehicles.
