GM to stop making Chevy Malibu after 60 years as it shifts to EVs

General Motors announced it will cease production of the Chevrolet Malibu, a model with over 10 million units sold since 1964, to focus on electric vehicles. The Malibu's production will end in November as GM reallocates resources to produce next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EVs, marking a shift from gasoline-powered cars to EVs. This move aligns with GM's broader strategy to emphasize crossovers and SUVs, with the Malibu being one of the last traditional Chevrolet cars in the U.S. market.
