Google, Apple Take Aim at Unwanted Device Tracking

Google and Apple have collaborated to develop a new industry specification called "Detecting Unwanted Location Trackers," compatible with Android 6.0+ and iOS 17.5+. This initiative aims to alert users about unknown Bluetooth trackers moving with them, enhancing privacy and security. Manufacturers like eufy, Motorola, and Pebblebee will produce compatible tags, allowing users to identify, locate, and disable unwanted trackers.
