Google blocked 2.3M apps from Play Store last year for breaking the G law

In 2022, Google blocked 2.28 million Android apps from its Play Store for violating security rules, highlighting its commitment to enhancing security through new policies and machine learning. This effort also led to the suspension of 333,000 developer accounts. The increase in app rejections, which rose by 850,000 from the previous year, is attributed to improved security tools and a change in counting methodology aligned with the EU's Digital Services Act requirements. However, despite these efforts, some malicious apps still slipped through Google's screening process.
