Google Maps added speedometer features to Android in July 2024. The feature allows users to monitor their speed while driving and also displays the speed limit for the road they are on. This helps users stay within legal limits and avoid accidents and tickets.

The speed display in Google Maps on iPhone shows your current speed in the bottom-left corner of the screen while using navigation4. It changes color based on how close you are to the speed limit. To enable the speedometer, go to Settings > Navigation and scroll down to the Map display section. Note that this feature is being rolled out gradually, so it may not be immediately available for all users.
