Hertz charging Tesla renters for not refilling gas tank

Hertz has been charging customers renting Tesla electric vehicles erroneous fuel fees, such as a nearly $300 "Skip the Pump" fee for not returning the vehicle with a full tank of gas, despite EVs not requiring gasoline. After public reports and complaints, Hertz acknowledged the issue was due to a system error and has since refunded the affected customers and offered credits for future rentals.
