How Google’s AI Overviews Work, and How to Turn Them Off (You Can’t)

Google has expanded its AI Overviews feature in Search, which now provides AI-generated summaries directly in search results for all U.S. users. This feature, integrated into the default search experience, cannot be disabled but offers an option to view traditional web link results through a filtered view.

The AI Overviews, based on Google's Gemini model and other search technologies, aim to provide quick, easily verifiable answers.
