Several items on the In-N-Out menu have experienced a price increase in California. Some examples include the Double-Double Burger, Cheeseburger, and Hamburger. The Double-Double Burger saw an increase from $3.95 last year to $4.90 in 2023, a 24% increase. The Cheeseburger went from $2.80 to $3.50, a 25% increase. The price of a Hamburger increased from $2.40 to $2.65, a 10% increase. Additionally, combos and other menu items have also seen price hikes.

In-N-Out implemented the price increases in response to the new minimum wage law on April 1st.

In-N-Out cited two reasons for raising their menu prices in California:
Accompanying a pay raise for all Associates working in California restaurants: In-N-Out increased its prices to accommodate the new pay raise for its employees. This decision was made on the same day the state's fast-food minimum wage law took effect. The starting wage for In-N-Out restaurant employees is $22 to $23 an hour, which is slightly above the $20 minimum wage mandated by the new law.
Maintaining quality standards: In-N-Out stated that the price increase was necessary to maintain its quality standards. This suggests that the higher prices are intended to ensure that the company can continue to provide the same level of food quality and service that customers expect from In-N-Out.
It's worth noting that while In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder said she fought to keep prices down as the new law took effect, the decision to increase prices was ultimately made to balance the needs of both employees and customers.
