Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has stepped down from the board of Bluesky, the decentralized social media platform he initiated and supported since its conception in 2019. Bluesky announced the search for a new board member following Dorsey's departure, without detailing the reasons behind his decision.
Bluesky, which only launched in beta in March 2023 and became available to all users in February 2024, now boasts approximately 5.6 million users. Meanwhile, Dorsey remains active on X, formerly known as Twitter, endorsing it as "freedom technology" and maintaining connections with notable figures like Elon Musk and Edward Snowden.
