
Since the spring, there have been 549 layoffs at John Deere's Waterloo Works facility.

In this most recent round of layoffs at John Deere, 58 employees were laid off at the Urbandale plant, 49 employees from the Waterloo plant on East Donald Street, and 16 employees from the Des Moines Work plant in Ankeny.

The organization aims to help individuals and employers succeed by overcoming and eliminating barriers to employment. They focus on working with individuals to connect them to resources that present greater opportunities for successful employment, with intentionality given to creating economic vitality in the Cedar Valley's Black community3. As a resource hub, they connect individuals to income and work support, financial education and asset building resources, educational and workforce training. Partnering with local employers and business supports to leverage and expand resources, and tear down barriers that have led to generational poverty in the community.
