Johnson & Johnson has proposed a $6.475 billion settlement to address tens of thousands of lawsuits claiming its talc products, like baby powder, contain asbestos and cause ovarian cancer. This settlement, which aims to resolve both current and future claims, will undergo a three-month voting period to seek approval from plaintiffs. Despite previous failed attempts to settle these cases through bankruptcy of its subsidiary, J&J remains confident in achieving the required 75% support to finalize this deal and prevent further litigation.
