Little Island, a public park in New York, has launched its summer program with free and low-cost events. This year, the focus is on new works, including nine world premieres at its 700-seat amphitheater. Highlights include a collaboration between Twyla Tharp and T Bone Burnett, and a novel rendition of "The Marriage of Figaro" featuring Anthony Roth Costanzo. Free shows will also occur in a smaller area, with diverse curators like Cécile McLorin Salvant and Suzan-Lori Parks.
