Microsoft is reportedly developing a new AI model named MAI-1, featuring 500 billion parameters, which positions it between GPT-3 and GPT-4 in terms of size. Overseen by Mustafa Suleyman from Inflection AI, the model utilizes data including text from GPT-4 and web content. The model, expected to debut soon, may be used in Microsoft's data centers for services like Bing and Azure, rather than on consumer devices.
