'Monster' behind North Carolina toddler's wall revealed to be hive of over 50,000 bees

For eight months, a North Carolina toddler suspected a "monster" was making strange noises from her closet wall. The real culprit turned out to be a massive beehive with over 50,000 bees, discovered by beekeeper Curtis Collins using a thermal camera. The hive, located in a century-old farmhouse, weighed over 100 pounds and was one of the largest Collins had ever removed.

The extraction process, documented by the toddler’s mother, Ashley Class, on TikTok, attracted over 9 million views. Despite successfully removing the hive and saving the bees, the family faces over $20,000 in damages, not covered by insurance. The toddler now affectionately refers to Collins as a "monster hunter."
