In California, over 600,000 residents have not used their "inflation relief" payments issued to mitigate inflation's impact. These payments, ranging from $200 to $1,050, were distributed by the Franchise Tax Board starting October 2022, with the final round completed by September last year. While 7.2 million payments were directly deposited, another 9.6 million were sent via debit cards, of which only 90% have been activated. Californians have until April 30, 2026, to utilize these funds, with activation assistance available through a dedicated hotline.
