MultiVersus, the free-to-play platform fighter, is set to relaunch next week featuring new characters Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" and Agent Smith from "The Matrix." After an 11-month hiatus for upgrades to Unreal Engine 5, the game will support cross-platform play across multiple systems, though without Nintendo support. The extensive roster includes characters from various Warner Bros-owned franchises, with Jason Voorhees available at launch and Agent Smith to follow later in the season.

During its 11-month offline period, MultiVersus was upgraded to Unreal Engine 5. This upgrade was part of the development process to enhance the game's performance and visuals.

MultiVersus will support cross-platform play and cross-progression across all consoles and PC upon its relaunch6. This means that players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (both Epic Games and Steam) can all play together with crossplay3. MultiVersus makes use of a Warner Bros. Games account, allowing you to add friends outside of your usual friends lists3. So long as you and your friends add one another as Warner Bros. friends, you can join in the action together.
