A new Android malware named "Dirty Stream" has been discovered by Microsoft, affecting billions of devices by exploiting a flaw in the ContentProvider system used across numerous apps. This vulnerability allows hackers to hijack apps and potentially gain control over user data and app behavior.
The "Dirty Stream" malware operates by sending manipulated files to apps, enabling unauthorized code execution and data theft. Microsoft found this issue in apps with over four billion installations and recommends avoiding sideloading apps and using Google Play Protect to safeguard devices.
