The new iPad Pro and iPad Air are set to receive customers with iPadOS 17.4 preinstalled, but an immediate update to iPadOS 17.5 will be available. This update, specific to the new devices, enhances document scanning capabilities and introduces features such as offline mode in Apple News+ and cross-platform tracking notifications. Notably, the iPad Pro models include an "adaptive True Tone flash" to improve scanning, a feature not available on the iPad Air. The update was already released for other iPads earlier, without the scanning enhancements.
