Planet Fitness to increase membership fee for first time in nearly 30 years

Planet Fitness is set to increase its classic membership fee from $10 to $15 a month for new members, marking the first price hike in 26 years. This change, announced during the company’s first-quarter results discussion, will take effect in the summer. Current members will continue paying the existing $10 rate. The company also plans to test new pricing for its Black Card membership, which currently costs $24.99 monthly and represents over 60% of new memberships.
