Samsung adds support for Matter 1.2 to SmartThings
Which major platforms have not yet supported Matter 1.2?
Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home have yet to add support for Matter 1.2. While Apple has announced it will support robot vacuums later this year, there is no word on support for other device types2. Home Assistant supports Matter 1.2, but its integration is still in beta.
What appliances will now work with SmartThings via Matter?
SmartThings now supports various appliances through Matter, including refrigerators, room air conditioners, dishwashers, washing machines, robot vacuums, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, air quality sensors, air purifiers, and fans. This allows users to add, control, and receive notifications from these devices directly through the SmartThings app.
When will the SmartThings app support Matter 1.2?
The SmartThings app will support Matter 1.2 later this summer.
