The Galaxy Watch FE comes in a single 40mm size with a 1.2-inch OLED display. In comparison to Samsung's previous models, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 3 came in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic has the largest display at 47mm6. The Watch FE's display is smaller than some of the previous models, but it still offers a clear and vibrant viewing experience.
The Galaxy Watch FE, as an entry-level smartwatch, does forgo some features compared to more premium models. Key features it lacks include:
Size Options: Unlike premium models, the Galaxy Watch FE only comes in a single 40mm size with a slightly smaller 1.2-inch OLED display.
Latest Processor: The Galaxy Watch FE uses the last-gen Exynos W920 chip instead of the newer W930.
Temperature Sensor: The Watch FE does not include the temperature sensor that was introduced in the last year's model.
Battery Size: The battery in the Galaxy Watch FE is smaller at 247mAh1.
Fast Charging: It's unclear whether the Galaxy Watch FE will support fast charging.
Despite these differences, the Galaxy Watch FE retains many features of the premium models, such as a sapphire crystal lens, IP68 rating, 5ATM of water resistance, one-click strap mechanism, NFC payments, and built-in GPS. It also includes OneUI Watch 5 and Wear OS 4, abnormal high / low heart rate notifications, EKGs, body composition analysis, and personalized heart rate zones.
The Galaxy Watch FE does not appear to support fast charging based on the available information. When The Verge asked Samsung about this feature, they did not receive a response. The charging speed of the Galaxy Watch FE is apparently 5W, which is less than the Galaxy Watch 6.
