Shadow of The Erdtree Will Be Elden Ring's 'First And Last' Expansion, Director Reveals

Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of Elden Ring, has confirmed that the upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, will be the game's only expansion. Set to release two years after the original game, this expansion is described as a substantial addition, offering new mechanics, weapons, and characters, but it will not split the game's storyline or affect its existing endings. Despite being the sole expansion, Miyazaki hinted at the possibility of revisiting the Elden Ring universe in future projects.
