Sony quickly backs down on Helldivers 2 PSN requirement for PC players

Sony has reversed its decision to require PC players of Helldivers 2 to link their Steam accounts with the PlayStation Network after facing significant backlash. The planned May 6 update, which would have enforced this requirement, has been canceled following community feedback and negative reviews. Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt acknowledged the community's response and expressed gratitude towards PlayStation for making PSN linking optional, aiming to improve the game experience without imposing restrictions.
