Elon Musk shared a quick video update about Giga Texas' upcoming supercomputer cluster on Independence Day1. The supercomputer cluster, housed in the southend extension, is expected to accelerate Tesla's FSD efforts and support the rollout of the company's dedicated Robotaxi. Construction is being finalized and they aim to get it online in the coming months.
Giga Texas' southend extension houses a "super dense, water-cooled supercomputer cluster" consisting of 50,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs3. This supercomputer cluster will be used for FSD (Full Self-Driving) training to accelerate Tesla's autonomous driving efforts, which is essential for the rollout of the company's dedicated Robotaxi.
Tesla's Robotaxi is expected to be unveiled on August 8, 2024. The vehicle is designed as a next-generation self-driving car and is a key part of Tesla's future plans for autonomous ride-sharing services.
