Tesla has decided to continue using its existing gigacasting technology, which involves front and rear megacasts with a structural battery pack, rather than developing a new system for casting an entire vehicle underbody in one piece. This decision, reported by Reuters, marks a shift from earlier plans to implement a single-piece gigacast in their "unboxed" process. Despite speculation that the change was due to sales and competition pressures, Tesla aims to integrate aspects of its current and next-generation platforms to accelerate the launch of new models, including the Robotaxi "Cybercab," without relying on new production facilities.
