
About 71% of expats in the United States are satisfied with their jobs, which is higher than the global average of 68%. Expats appreciate the local career opportunities and the flexibility of the business culture. However, they also report working longer hours compared to the global average, and 52% are dissatisfied with the overall cost of living in the U.S.

U.S. expats work an average of 43.7 hours per week, which is higher than the global average of 42.5 hours. This longer workweek can be attributed to local job market demands and career prospects for expats in the United States.

The U.S. ranks as the No. 35 best country for expats out of 53 global countries, according to the latest Expat Insider report from InterNations4. The report considers survey responses from more than 12,500 expats around the world, covering their satisfaction across five broad indices: quality of life, ease of settling in, working abroad, personal finance, and "expat essentials" like the ability to find housing and navigate the local language.
