The Mirage hotel-casino in Las Vegas, a pioneering megaresort from the '90s, will close on July 17 for major renovations, reemerging in 2027 as Hard Rock Las Vegas with a new guitar-shaped hotel tower. This closure marks a significant transformation for the Strip, following the recent shutdown of the Tropicana Las Vegas. Hard Rock International plans to lay off over 3,000 employees, offering substantial severance and the possibility of rehire upon reopening.
